Gone over to the dark side....

I just booked my first all-inclusive vacation for Cancun today.  Once a person in favor of "roughin' it" style of independent traveling, I shamefully admit that I've sadly gone over to the dark side.

Is this a point of no return? Is this a sign of old age?  I hope I can still be saved.

12 Miles

I ran 12 miles this morning (on the treadmill).  Uh, yeah, it was really boring, but I didn't want to get killed on the road, it was rather dark out.  So I opted for boredom.

Anyway, guess I'm somewhat ready for the half.  I'll be lucky if finish under 2 hours...  I ran on the treadmill at about a 8:55 pace.

Turning 30

Took a girls trip with Helen, Marie, Stacy, Laura, Carolyn and Jessica to Charleston.  Most of us are turning 30 this year or next, and we wanted something fun to celebrate the occasion.

Charleston is charming little town with a lot of history.  Here are some pictures from the trip.

One Million Miles

I accumulated one million miles with American Airlines and achieved my lifetime "Gold" status this month, one step closer to the TWO million miles lifetime "Platinum" status.

AAMiles

I would say this "accomplishment" is somewhat bittersweet.  On the one hand my elite frequent flyer status comes with some nice perks, early boarding, shorter check-in queues, and upgrades (for life), but this also means that I've spent too much of my life breathing in recycled air.  Ahh...how I wish I could leave this consulting lifestyle behind....   But until then, I've got some extra upgrade points to use on my next flight home.

8 miler

I ran 8 miles this Saturday, haven't done that in about a year.  It did not feel good.   Maybe it was because I was dehydrated and the heat was getting to me, but more than likely, its probably because I am out of shape.  I have a long way to go for the half.   Good thing its still more than a month away!!

Started reading Dune.  Not sure why I haven't read it earlier...very good so far.
